Kari Nguyen, M.S. CCC-SLP received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and Sciences from the University of Houston, and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She has spent the past 5 years working with pediatric patients in a variety of settings including the schools, in the home, and private outpatient clinics with experience in early intervention, speech and language delays, social skills, and augmentative and alternative communication.

Kari understands the importance of building language skills in a family’s native language. Being bilingual herself, she is able to reach families who speak both Spanish and English. Cultural diversity is something to be celebrated and she is committed to honoring these differences throughout the treatment of care. She is an empathetic and open-minded speech therapist that truly loves her job and working with children. Kari is passionate about developing treatment plans that are individualized, evidenced-based, and above all, fun!
My Passion
My passion for speech therapy was sparked long before I earned my credentials. Right after high school, while participating in a silent retreat for a college course—armed with just three months of Beginning American Sign Language—I spent three full days without speaking a single word.
Experiencing firsthand how isolating it feels when communication is limited gave me a deep, personal appreciation for the power of human connection. I believe that everyone deserves to be understood and build meaningful relationships, no matter what form their voice takes.
Outside of the clinic, I’m a proud mom to toddlers—including a wonderful child with hearing loss—and married to my amazing husband. As a family, we love staying active, discovering new local parks, and spending quality time together.
